Team Schedule Times Boosters

PRACTICES
All swimmers need to bring a water bottle or fluids to drink during practices. Please be on time and be ready to swim with your cap and goggles on at 6 a.m. Do not wear your team suits to practice in – save them for the swim meets (the suits will last longer).  If you are not practicing with the team in the mornings, you need to clear that with Coach Eddie and sign in at your alternate swim site each day.  You must practice a total of four (4) days per week.  ALL SWIMMERS ARE REQUIRED TO PRACTICE AT THE YMCA ON THURSDAY MORNINGS IN ORDER TO GET INFORMATION REGARDING MEETS, ETC., UNLESS SICK OR OTHERWISE EXCUSED BY COACH EDDIE.

NOTIFYING COACH
If you are unable to attend practice, please call Coach Eddie between 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. the night before the practice OR 5:45 – 6:00 a.m. the morning of the practice at 601-209-3193 to let him know why you are unable to attend.

SWIM MEETS
Swimmers will be told as the meets near what the transportation will be.  When taking the bus everyone meets at the high school parking lot at a specified time. Only Coach Eddie and the swimmers are allowed on the bus to out of town meets. Parents may follow in their cars. We will take our own cars to the swim meets at the Courthouse in Jackson. All swimmers must attend the entire swim meet.  NO swimmer is allowed to leave the premises without the coach’s knowledge and consent.  If a parent plans to take their swimmer home after out-of-town meets, he/she must sign the form checking their swimmer out!!!

SWIMMERS
need snacks, water, sunscreen, towels, chair, and some extra money. Concession stands are usually at the meets if swimmers forget to bring snacks. Do not forget caps, goggles and a swim suit. Also, swimmers must wear their Red Team T-Shirt to the meets.  Swimmers cannot wear Makos/Sunkist or other team suits/caps to meets.  Also, swimmers cannot wear any type of jewelry, i.e., earrings, watches, necklaces, etc.  The team has 2 coolers, one for water and one for Gatorade that we will bring to each swim meet. Swimmers still need to bring extra drinks. “Good” snacks for swimmers are fruits, dry cereals, trail mixes, yogurt, fruit bars, etc.  Appropriate drinks are water, fruit juices, Gatorade, etc.   Big NO-NOs are cokes,
candy bars and greasy foods before or during a meet. They will swim better with the good stuff! Occasionally, the bus may stop for food on the way home after a meet. This is determined on a meet-by-meet basis.

PARENTS
need a chair, sunscreen and snacks/drinks. Bring money for heat   sheets and   admittance fees for each meet (Parents and spectators pay a high school charge of $3 or $4 to get in the meets). We do not pay at our own meet and swimmers do not pay at any meet at the gate.

North State and State meet
The school helps us purchase one meal for each event.  At North State we will get something for lunch but the swimmers will need money for the bus trip home. State meet qualifiers will stay overnight in a hotel and get to eat at a restaurant with the team. They will need extra money if they want to purchase a state t-shirt.
