2011 Clinton Arrow Swim Team Important Swim Team Information

Clinton Arrow Swim Team practice begins in early August.

CONSENT FORMS
Clinton Public School District REQUIRES swimmers to have the physical form, the parent permission form (front / back), the CAST Rules Form, and the Star Sportmanship certificate  brought to the FIRST SWIM PRACTICE in order to swim.

STAR SPORTSMANSHIP
Every athlete MUST complete the STAR SPORTSMANSHIP to be eligible to compete in Mississippi athletics. Type in the school that you attend to get the correct STAR Code. If you have done this in previous years for any Clinton sports, you do not have to do so again.  Be sure to enter the swimmer’s complete name, print the personalized certificate and bring it to the first practice.

TEAM APPAREL
Clinton Arrow Swim Team suits are mandatory. Suits are purchased directly from All American Swim Supply. THE SUITS MUST BE ORDERED NO LATER AUGUST 15TH TO ARRIVE BY THE FIRST MEET.
Other mandatory team items include: current team tee-shirt, warm-up suit, and both red and black swim caps.
Mandatory items are part of the Swim Team uniform and must be purchased, including both the red and the new black swim caps.  If you need financial assistance, please contact Cliff Johnson.

SWIM MEETS
Swimmers will ride the team bus to ALL meets.  Swimmers should meet at the high school parking lot at a specified time. Only Coach Eddie and the swimmers are allowed on the bus.  Parents may follow in their cars.  All swimmers must attend the entire swim meet.  NO swimmer is allowed to leave the premises without the coach’s knowledge and consent.

SWIMMERS need snacks, water, sunscreen, towels, chair, and some extra money. Although the CAST Booster Club provides water and sports drinks, swimmers are encouraged to bring extra drinks and snacks. “Good” snacks are fruits, dry cereals, trail mixes, yogurt, fruit bars, etc.  Appropriate drinks are water, fruit juices, Gatorade, etc.   Big NO-NOs are cokes, candy bars and greasy foods before or during a meet. They will swim better with the good stuff! Concession stands are usually at the meets, if a swimmer forgets to bring snacks.
Remember to pack swim caps, goggles and the team swim suit. If possible, pack back-up goggles and swim suit. Swimmers must wear the current Clinton Arrow Swim Team tee-shirt and are encouraged to wear black shorts or warm suit to the meets. Consistent uniforming is important.  Swimmers cannot wear Makos/Sunkist or other team suits/caps to meets.  Also, swimmers cannot wear any type of jewelry, i.e., earrings, watches, necklaces, etc.

PARENTS need a chair, sunscreen and snacks/drinks. Bring money for heat sheets and admittance fees for each meet. Parents and spectators pay a gate admission of $3 to $5 plus cost of a heat sheet. We do not pay admission at our own meet, and swimmers do not pay at any meet.
